The vision of our Founder, Padmabhushan Shri Karamshibhai Jethabhai Somaiya, to provide an inclusive education to each student in his chosen vocation is the guiding light for all of us. We work towards realizing this vision and soar higher in the skies with freedom to educate what the young generation want to learn, the way they want to learn.
In the year 2012, the UGC and University of Mumbai conferred the Autonomous Status to the college. Post this recognition and having several accolades to our credit, we made significant changes to our existing syllabi to reflect the changing business, industrial and social needs.
A holistic education that provides opportunities to gain and share knowledge, experiment and develop beyond curriculum, is offered at K. J. Somaiya College of Science and Commerce.
Innovative learning methodologies such as project-based learning, experiential learning and flip- class learning practiced by a committed fleet of faculty, supported by several hands has been our Unique Outstanding Proposition.
I am proud to say that our college exhibits a vibrant atmosphere due to the co-curricular and extension activities organized and conducted here. Our Girls’ NCC unit has brought laurels in the form of the Vice- Chancellor’s banner for three consecutive years in the past. The NSS unit has demonstrated its social responsibility through community service in the areas of health, crises-preparedness, gender sensitization, life-skills, environment enrichment & conservation.
Every student is an opportunity that we cherish and we work hard to unlock their highest potential through a safe, nurturing yet challenging environment at K.J.
