Eligibility Criteria

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three years integrated programme leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std. XII) conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, in the following subjects:

  • English (higher or lower level) carrying 100 marks.
  • Any one of the modern Indian languages or modern foreign languages or any classical language (higher or lower level) or information technology carrying 100 marks.
  • Four other subjects from among the subjects mentioned below carrying a total of 400 marks.
  • OR
  • Three other subjects from among the subjects mentioned below carrying a total 300 marks and one more subject from among the remaining optional subjects carrying 100 marks as prescribed for the H.S.C. (Std. XII) examination. List of Subjects

    Students must give their preferences of their subject combination at the time of admission. Students will select one subject among the two subjects taken as their major subject, and the other subject will become minor subject. Admission Guidelines

  • Parents and students are requested to go through the prospectus and admission notices put on the college notice boards and college’s website: kjssc.somaiya.edu before seeking admission in the college.
  • The College is conferred with Gujarati Linguistic Minority Status by the Govt. of Maharashtra, under which 50% of the seats at the entry level are reserved for the aforesaid linguistic minority. The remaining seats are allotted as per merit and according to other norms laid down by the university and the government from time to time.
  • The College or the Management does not accept any donation or capitation fees for any admission. The admission to students is given as per the standard and transparent procedures. Any person approaching the students or parents for donation/capitation fees should be reported to the Principal immediately.
  • The Principal reserves the right to amend or modify the rules regarding admission, as and when such amendments and guidelines are received from the Board, the University, the Government or the Management. The Principal also reserves the right to refuse admission, if in his opinion; such an admission is likely to adversely affect the overall discipline of the college.
  • Admission preference will be given to students who have passed the eligibility qualification in the preceding academic year.
  • All admissions are on first come first serve basis as per merit list.

  • Students belonging to SC and ST categories with their parent’s annual income upto Rs.2,50,000/-are required to produce income certificate issued by Tahsildar or form no.16 for the accounting year 2022-2023 and assessment year 2021-2022 (01-04-2021 to 31-3-2022).
  • Students belonging to OBC/SBC/VJNT categories with their parents annual income upto Rs.1,00,000/- are required to produce income certificate by tahsildar and with their parents Annual income above Rs.1,00,000/- upto Rs.8,00,000/- are required to produce income certificate from Tahasildar along with non creamy layer certificate, (01-04-2021 to 31-3-2022).
  • It is mandatory for all reserved category freeship or scholarship student to open Bank account in Nearby Nationalized Bank immediately after taking the admission.
  • Students belonging to OBC/SBC/VJNT are not eligible for fee concessions in the subjects of B.Sc. Computer Science, B.Sc. (IT) and BMS.

Refund of Fees

Mode of refund of fees

For Under-graduate Degree Programmes (Reference No.-UG /412 of 2008) 0.2859 Refund of Tuition, Development and All other Fees after Cancellation of Admission. The candidates who has taken admission in under-graduate programmes may request for refund of fees after applying in writing for cancellation of their admission to the programme. The refund of fees as applicable shall be made on or before 30th day after the date of cancellation and thereafter. The percentage of fees for the programme shall be refunded to the candidate after deducting charges as follows.

Note: The total amount considered for the refund of fees from the commencement of academic term of the programmes are as per the following criteria:

  • All the fee items chargeable for one year are as per relevant University Circulars for different faculties (Excluding the programmes for which the total amount is fixed by other competent authorities).
  • The fee charges towards group insurance and all fee components to be paid as university share (Including Vice chancellor's fund. University fee for sports and cultural activities, E-charge, disaster management fund, examination fee, N.S.S. cell fund and enrolment fee.) are non-refundable if payment is made by the college prior to the date of cancellation.
  • Fee collected for identity card and library card. admission form , prospectus, and enrolment fee are not refundable after the commencement of the academic term.
  • All refundable deposits (Laboratory, caution money, library etc.) shall be fully returned at the time of cancellation.
