Master of Science | M.Sc.(By Research)

Department of Microbiology offers a regular M.Sc. by Research programme in Microbiology in domains such as Medical Microbiology, Immunology, Applied and Environmental Microbiology, Microbial Biochemistry. The objective is to inculcate and enhance scientific temperament and critical thinking.The admission rules and eligibility criteria are as per the guidelines from University of Mumbai.

M.Sc. by Research programme initiates with an application by the student, followed by selection, interview and preparation of the Research proposal in consultation with the Research Advisory Committee and supervisor. This is followed by the admission and approval of research topic.

Career Prospects

After completing M.Sc. by Research in Microbiology, there are future career prospects such as:

  • Pursuing Ph.D. in Microbiology
  • Service as an Assistant Professor in a senior College with further required qualification
  • As a research associate in an institute
  • Service as a Microbiologist in a government/private sector
