The Bachelor of Science programme at KJSSC is a complete, holistic, well-rounded three year course which encompasses all the significant branches of Science. It starts off with the fundamentals of the chosen subject and as the years progress, takes the learner to a comfortable place within the subject of Interest.

A Bachelors in Science prepares the learner for a science- based future, to face the technological bursts of the times and stay updated with the latest in the world of science and technology. The Faculty of Science is committed to providing its students with quality education emphasizing personal mentoring, choice and flexibility. These programmes have both theory and practical components. Like other BSc programs, this program has some courses with lab components and our laboratories offer hands-on experience and skillsets to promote the curiosity and learning of the students. The curriculum of all the programmes are student centric and instills new learning pedagogies in the student. Communication skills and computer literacy are promoted.

Programme Requirements

 

First Year B.Sc. Sem I & II

A candidate for being eligible for admission to the three years integrated programme leading to the degree of Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std XII) conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, in the following subjects:

  • English (Higher or lower level) carrying 100 marks.
  • Any one of the modern Indian languages or modern foreign languages or any classical language (Higher level or Lower level) or information Technology carrying 100 marks.
  • Four other subjects from among the subjects mentioned below carrying a total of 400 marks.

OR

Three other subjects from among the subjects mentioned below carrying a total 300 marks and one more subject from among the remaining optional subjects carrying 100 marks as prescribed for the H.S.C. (Std XII) examination

List of subjects :

Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics and Statistics, Geography, Economics, Geology, Psychology

OR

Must have passed an examination of another university or body or board recognised as equivalent to the H.S.C. (Std XII) examination conducted by the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education.
